Industrial Energy Solutions’ equipment set includes cost-effective, dependable, reliable and energy efficient, steam raising Circulating Fluidised Bed Combustion (CFBC) Boilers.
CFBC plants are capable of burning a variety of low-grade solid fuels, including most types of coal and biomass, at high efficiency and without the necessity for expensive fuel preparation.
Heat generation in a CFBC boiler includes the following processes:
- Pre conditioned fuel is fed into a circulating fluidised silica furnace
- The thermal stability of the silica in the furnace accommodates changes in fuel quality and moisture content
- Large volumes of air are required to circulate the fuel and silica
- Due to the long dwell time through the recirculation of the fuel, most of the ash is conveyed out of the boiler as fly ash via the flue gas
- In bed desulphurization reduces SOx emissions
- Lower control combustion temperatures assists with the reducing in NOx emissions.
- Due to long fuel dwell time and in bed lime injection, there is potential for the high quality ash to be beneficiated
For a wide range of thermal duty, CFBCs offer significant cost and process flexibility advantages.
